its mainly the rich people who are more snobby, live in a mansion and/or have a butler. they generally wear suits and dresses themselves. but why do they make their children wear suits, fancy dresses or sailor suits? I'm pretty sure that, that will make the children more stuck up themselves?

My Fancy Rat died today?

So I'm a very affectionate person when it comes to animals. My brother had 2 fancy rats since December and basically we really loved them. Today when I woke up she looked ill. Long story short she died and the other one is fine. I just can't seem to get over her death. She was so small and cute and for her to be healthy one day and the next die is just mind blowing. Exterminator advice please?

I'm in MI and in my room (attic room) I'm having a big struggle with spiders. Like GODZILLA sized nasty spiders. I had the same problem last summer but coped with it because they were so little and they all came out of the same closet. Recently I was out on my front porch (that has an awning over it, the awning leads into the attic which is connected to my room) And there had to have been over a dozen of the critters all over the porch. I know it's silly and I'm so one of those girls that HATE spiders but they are quite big, yellow and translucent. Also there have been some tan ones with the big huge shells on the butt hanging around too. So I wanted to ask if anyone knew anything about exterminators. I tried to contact companies but they all want my address and I'd have to consult with my parents first I just want my room, my room only sprayed but I'm not sure if that is ok to ask, and I'm trying to figure out the price as I don't want to go overboard as it will be cold again in a few months

For almost three years now nonstop (meaning no break-ups or separations), I have been with my boyfriend. We have the highest level of compatibility possible, share the same relationship goal, and care for each other immensely. We are also best friends and are each other's therapists. But sadly, his family does not approve of our relationship. Especially his Mother, who has had a history of drug and alcohol problems. She continually verbally abuses him and I, and often threatens him with physical punishment, even though he is almost 17. My Mother, him, and I feel like it would be in our (and his) best interest to have him legally emancipated, and to have him live with us. He has stayed with us for long periods of time before, and we have gotten along quite well. He has a job, and is a very responsible young man with a good head on his shoulders. However, I have a strong feeling his Mother will not approve of it, so we will most likely have to battle in court. We have many viable reasons that would allow us to win this case, such as the fact that his Mother verbally abuses him, they often have their electricity, water and cable cut off for failure to pay the bills, there are 7 people living in a small 3 bedroom house with two of the children not having rooms (which is illegal, as I learned from my Mom's friend who is a cop), they rarely have enough food to support the family, sometimes they can't provide the proper medical care for my boyfriend (he had a serious case of staph infection on his leg, and his Mom did not take him to the hospital or doctor), I often have to buy him some of the things he needs, such as body wash, shampoo, after-shave, deoderant and sometimes food, I often witness his 19 year old brother beat him up in front of his Mom, and her not do anything. They also have no respect for him. His Mother makes him raise and watch her own children almost 24/7, and his bedroom is used as a storage room despite the fact they have room in their hall closet, attic and large shed. I also have noticed that they possess alcohol in their house, even though his Mother cannot legally have alcohol in the house, due to the fact that she goes to drug court. She also knows that her 19 year old son who is soon to be a father with his girlfriend that lives in the house too smokes marijuana and who knows what else. I would like to have more information about the requirements of emancipation in Mississippi, and how long the process would take. I would also like to know if by chance she does agree to emancipating him, can she just sign a legal paper and get it over with that day? And where can I obtain the legal paper? Also, I need some tips on how to approach her about the situation. Also, is it legal for him to come stay with me for the rest of the summer until we can get him emancipated, even if his Mother says no, because he feels unsafe in his environment? That would be 34 feet total length if that fits your attic. layed out 'square' that would be 8.5 foot on a side, but shape is not critical and 6 x 11 rectangle will be just as good. where the ends come together is called the feed point. that will have a 120 ohm resistance. it is hard finding a balun of that exact size for connecting to the coax unless you wind your own. you can use a commercial 1:1 balun and then run about 7 feet of RG6 (75 ohm coax, like used to match twin antennas) to transform to regular 50 ohm coax like RG58 or miniRG8 that should get you close to a low swr.

Residential block in Chicago not zoned for multiple families?

I hope someone can help me out here. I live in Chicago on a single family residential block. There's a fireman who owns a house next to me and he rents it out to three different parties. Basement, first, and second floor. He has young 20 somethings living there and they party, smoke, and drink all the time and create lots of mess. The parking situation on the block is grim to say the least since they all have multiple junker cars that take up lots of space on the block. They have a back area to park in, however, the building owner has an uncovered jalopy of a boat in the backyard that the neighborhood children all play on (back yard isn't completely fenced in, so the kids play in the boat all the time.) There is a giant black willow or "weed tree" as we call it that drops leaves all year long in my neat back yard and whenever there is a storm, my backyard is littered in twigs and branches. More than one occassion in the last 5 years has left me without power since the tree branches knocked out my power. The homeowner refuses to take care of the property, cut the tree branches, and address the litter issue with his tenants. Do I have any rights here? I don't want to be forced out of my home and have to move because of a slum lord. I don't believe that the block is even zoned for multiple family homes. Please does anyone have any advice?

Where is moisture in my attic coming from?

I had a mildew issue in my attic which was remediated (sprayed, scrubbed, painted with some protectant paint, and dried out with a space heater). We didn't have any issues with mold growth in the the house but we obviously didnt want to leave it unchecked, and no problems ever since. This winter I poked my head into the attic and noticed a good amount of frost, not a real thick coating, but a decent coating on the flat boards and nails. Ive been trying to figure out where the moisture is coming from. Nothing leaks when it rains, I sealed up every type of spot where heat could be getting up there through ceiling fans and things like that. Recently during a rain storm I noticed some water looked as though is was going behind my gutters and dripping off from underneath the gutter. Out of curiousity I looked back up in the attic, and sure enough there was a small spot of mildew in the proximity of where the water was running behing the gutter outside. What are the chances that water getting behind the gutter and soaking the fascia board could be the cause of the moisture in the attic, and if so is there a simple way to fix this? My mother was really lazy when I was growing up. Now I hate to bash her because she was a good mom but honestly just lazy. She kept the main part of our house clean (kitchen and living room) but hid everything else in our basement and attic. Is it possible to remove a portion of an attic for high ceilings?

most homes in our city have high vaulted ceilings which makes the home look much more modern and spacious. However, our two story home does not. The home is over 2,800 sq ft. and we sacrificed having high vaulted ceilings for more square footage that we get with a loft and fifth bedroom. For the loft upstairs, is it possible to remove the attic (which is only used for instillation) for higher ceilings? We would keep the attic above the rest of the upstair rooms so that the house stays instillated. Have you ever heard of anyone doing this?

Can I get out of my lease that just started 10 days ago?

My family (husband and kids) just moved into a home that we are renting 10 days ago. We are already having problems with the property management company that we leased from. The first couple of days the a/c was working ok but never really blowing cold air. I called the manager and was surprised she had an attitude like I was bothering her! She sent maintenance and it was a little cooler that day but last night stopped working AGAIN. It is memorial day weekend and 85-90 degrees in this house. I can already tell we are dealing with slum lords because of the other things like unpainted closets (that were a horrible mess) the door was not painted and has dirt and paw prints on it. And the glass has cracks and some of the window screens are missing. Let me just add when I viewed the place with the property manager I assumed these things would be fixed up and repaired. I asked before I signed the contract and she said it would but it has been an ongoing issue from the day we moved in!! I can't see us managing through the summer with this heat (oklahoma) and another year of dealing with this horrible management company!!

I honestly wouldn't know what to think, if it's just one one side and it's occurred in to different beds in different locations. The post above me is right about demonic smells, it's horrid, but ghosts can have smells as well, such as uncleanliness, sweat, sickness, perfume, "old person smell" (not being ugly here, not a kids person, I love the elderly), etc. It's possible you've got something following you and they like to stay in bed, I really can't think of anything else. We could say a great deal of humidity, but being localized in 2 different places just doesn't make sense. I personally haven't encountered this, but I've had things happen that I haven't heard anyone else have either. I understand not wanting to call the police with every incident, after a couple of times, it's best not to bother them. I would keep a journal of all the incidences in your house and contact paranormal investigators to come check things out.

My great uncle, if you will, was a scientist. He died a few years back, when I was too young to remember. I honestly feel like there is something the matter with me, I am 21 I have never had a real boyfriend. Can I put an HVAC vent in my garage?

My attic extends out over my attached garage. My air handler unit is in the attic along with all of my other ducts. I have an open spot on my air handler where I could add a duct. The garage portion of the attic is not currently insulated, but I plan to rectify that. First Tattoo Trouble..?

If I can figure out a way to put a picture up, I will. But it's like a fancy "A" and a treble cleft attached to it. I designed it myself. The only problem I am having is where to put it. How to handle this situation?

I was doing some cleaning in the attic and found an old box of my brothers from at least 12 years ago. I was rumbling through it and i found a package that resembles some type of drug. Why do i keep having this dream?

I had a dream a long time ago, years ago. I never forgot it. Now its back every few nights and just keeps coming. It's about me and a "haunted" house that's abandoned and old and the dream is always in black and white except for the grass, trees, lights, all normal, but the house is grey and black and i would go inside and its like if i don't get out i die. Why is he acting weirdly around me for a long time?

Hi, so I was really close to my best guy friend for two years and then when we both moved to upper school he has been acting differently and ignoring me a bit. We were really close and everything and we used to play fight, joke around and all that sort of stuff. He was hanging round with this other girl who people say acts and looks exactly like me and she has been flirting with him a lot.she does the whole hair twirling and ruffling his hair kind of thing. Can i get a wood hockey stick restored?

alright so i only i played hockey one year when i was 15 (im 22 now) anyway i found my old stick in the attic, i thought it was in a lot worse shape then it appears to be. its a wood stick it says "bauer 3003 supreme" that was given to me by my grandma 2 weeks before she died. so it means more to me then its worth, i don't know what its worth if anything. it has a small mark in the blade where i looks like it was dragged along the street or something and a small chip out of the handle from a little argument i had... both the chips are very small and i feel like they should be repairable but they might not be. i quit hockey when i broke both my legs on my dirt bike, and just never picked it back up. what i want to do is get it restored to what it looked like when it was new, even if its not worth the money, the stick means more to me then that so im willing to pay to get it fixed. does anyone know where i would go? hockey shop maybe? i don't know of any around here (rochester ny) but i have been out for so long. is it even possible to get a hockey stick restored like that? i can't just throw it out, but i don't trust it as it is. any advice would be grate also if anyone knows a price range of what it might cost

Depressed or just stressed?

I have tension in my neck and head on and off since Nov. All of my tests came back neg. Im starting massage therapy to relieve the stress. However, Ive noticed that I barely like going out and Ive been kind of down in the slums lately. I have a great career a nice house and car but not currently dating. Not so happy about my weight. And I have on an off anxiety. However, I can function, clean, work, I make myself go out, and I hang around fam. Even though I dont really want to go out, I make myself. Drug addict brother, HELPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Im 13 years old and live with my parents and my 2 brothers, one a 20 year old drug addict. My brother has been using for the past year and a half( feels like forever to me ). Even though he is 20 my parents pay him 50 euro every week. Which i find very unfair because shouldn't he be paying them rent? Anyway, my parents bring him to drug councellors, phsychologists everything but nothing works. My parents are trying to pay off his debt at the moment for him which doesnt work because he goes back to his drug dealer and gets more 'stuff ' on tab, meaning he pays them later, or rather my parents. He is growing cannibis in my attic which my parents are fully aware of, and smokes weed and does drugs frequently in the house. He is also stealing, he owes me 500 euro from my savings which he stole. I'de say if you added up how much he owed my parents it would come to about 10,000euro. Everytime i say anything to my parents they tell me to shut up hes going through a tough time and that hes their precious son. I am left on the side and they seem to forget they have 2 other kids. I honestly feel very depressed and my parents really really dont listen to me. I have asked them time and time again to kick him out but they won't because like i said hes there precious son. I am getting so fed up of this and cannot wait another 5 years to move out of the house. I have no clue what to do but believe i shouldn't have to deal with this. How to prevent someone from breaking down my apartment door?

Ok so this is the story. I have a very aggressive neighbor that lives right next to my apartment in the same building. The Landlord allows his aggressive behavior because the Landlord is a slum lord and doesn't care. Also because they are related. Recently my shower got clogged and it overflowed to the downstairs. So this neighbor being drunk and high started threatening my life and to break into my house when I left to go to work. I am trying to save up money to move but it is very hard since I do not make a lot of it. I called the police when it happened and they just warned him to stop talking to me. That is not good enough. Why does it keep turning?

i have a fancy dining room in my house that we never use like never. it just sits there and looks good. the ceiling and walls are white. the rest of the house is darker shades of grey. well the ceiling in the room keeps turning yellow!!!!!!!!! i had my hubby paint it and a few months later the white went to yellow like someone snuck in with a yellow paint brush and painted it in the middle of the night!!! i dont smoke in that room very much. i smoke in my office down the hall and in the living room and the kitchen and my bedroom but not in that room only when im walking thru it. what do you think the cause is and how can i prevent it????????????? i want white!!!

There are no windows/doors in the basement, and all the damageable items (TV) are out of reach from my one year old. Strange noise keep coming from the attic. My husband has set traps and poison in case it might be a mouse but nothing has taken the bait. Bit the noise seems to loud for it to be a mouse anyway. Ok I didn't include the dream in the title because it is complicated. So I was in this freaky house with my best friend, and we were sorta like detectives. Then when we went into the attic, a girl with no face and white/blue skin saw us. She came towards us, then we woke up in the park. Then we explained to eachother about how they make you loose memory. Then we saw a tall one in the park with no hair. Then we ran away but my friend noticed a person I know talking to it. If you replace an older A/C compressor (approx 12-15 yrs old), do you have to replace the heating unit ?

Our A/C compressor is leaking freon and needs additional freon...not sure if you can put additional freon in the old compressor because of the new laws--the unit does take R22? If we have to replace the compressor (which is outside) do we have to replace the heating unit in our attic...the heating unit was replace about 5-7 years ago.

SHOULD I STAY, OR SHOULD I GO?

Ok, so I have been with my boyfriend for about 5 years. We met in Ohio and after about a year or dating he moved in with me. He has a 4 year old son with someone else. We lived together for a year and then split up and he stayed in Ohio and I moved back to New York. We decided to get back together and chose to move to Atlanta. I worked mad overtime to get us an apartment in Atlanta and brought him down and we were there 6 months before he started galavanting off to California to try and get some contacts...he is an aspiring music producer....and he had a friend already living there. He would go, stay two weeks and come back. This went on for about 2 months before I had a breakdown and ended up in the hospital. I lost my job once I got out of the hospital, and his friend offered to put us up out in California until we could get on our feet. So I chose to come out to California...no job waiting, no prospects, didn't know anyone. I went out on a leap of faith and ended up in California. His friend was a newleywed of all things and they had a one bedroom apartment which the 4 of us shared for about 6 months before things got really weird. They kicked us out because they said the landlord was threatening to evict them because there were too many people living in the apartment. Ok, understandable, but neither of us had jobs (my father was sending money and I was giving it to them to help out with the bills while we looked for jobs) and so now we were homeless...We slept under bridges together and slummed until finally we had to go to a shelter. While at the shelter, I was informed that I was approved for unemployment, so me and him stayed in a motel while we looked for work. I saved enough and bought him a car, and bought myself a car as well. He found work as a car sales man and I got temp work. We got into an apartment, on the money that I saved. So lets recap...I have been homeless with him, bought a car for him, put him up in two apartments so far, and now he has lost his job. There is no money coming in and I have landed my dream job. I bought a new car and am about to get myself out of the debt hole, but he is not bringing in any money and he just got approved for unemployment. I am just tired of carrying him. I want to leave him, but do not want to kick a man while he is down? The lease is in both of our names, and at this point, I just want to move out and get another apartment and move on with my life. It just seems like his head is in the clouds and not here on earth where I need him to be to help me. Any suggesstions? Thanks for reading..I know it is long winded....

A/c not cooling properly out of vents?

Have you had this problem before now? what I would do first would be inspect the duct in the attic to be sure they are insulated and be sure none have been crushed I don't know if they are rigid or the flexible tube type. Also be sure you check your air filter and change if necessary. I'm sure you do.At night the a/c does cool more efficiently.also don't know the size area vs. size of pump or age of the pump you are using. I certainly am not a heating and air pro. but there are a few things you can check yourself. You may try closing a vent in a room or area not being used to help push more cool air where needed. worth taking a little time to look before having to have a service call. my "slum lord" refused to fix anything in our house. there were 4 broken windows that were there when we moved in, (that he said he would fix), my dryer vent was made of cardboard, there was an ant nest in the bathroom wall and the sheet rock around it was rotting, not to mention there was a friggin gas leak. with the gas leak, i called the gas company and they put a warning sticker on the stove saying that it needed to be replaced because it was extremely hazardous. if fixed, it must be done by an appliance mechanic. well, the idiots took it upon themselves to try and tinker with it. they made it worse.. not only was it leaking gas, but it was putting off carbon monoxide. i had the gas company out to my house in 20 minutes to inspect it. i asked him if he would talk to the idiots i was renting to house from, and of course he said, "sure". he told them that if they continued to try and fix it themselves, they would be fined and they would shut my gas off. THEY STILL DIDNT LISTEN!!! we ended up moving out because we feared for our safety and the well being of our 9 month old daughter. they told me that i breached the lease by moving. ok, technically, didnt they break it by refusing to fix anything and putting us in danger? please, i really need help!

Moves/ideas for a 'dark' interpretive dance?

Never done an interpretive dance kinda of thing and when I did dancing I got a D... Anyways for English, for our individual novel studies we have to through dance portray an event in a novel and the event I'm doing is from The Way Of Shadows by Brent Weeks where the main character (who is only a child at this point), living in the slums, has his friend's (a young girl - 8 yrs about and is mute) face completely mutilated by the 'guild' leader. The main character then finds the girl. So its not exactly a happy scene. So pretty much I have to go through the dramatic cutting + reaction + feeling of the characters I think. Obviously I'm not actually going to mutilate anyone during the dance and have already thought of some ideas of how to portray this but as I'm not a dancer and am just doing this because we have to I thought I'd have some fun, its English after all, we aren't getting marked on our dancing capability though I want to make this as good as I can and think I'll enjoy doing something so over the top. Any ideas for moves or costume ideas would be great as well as music to accompany it. I Think My House Is Haunted?

My house is a victorian house, With high ceilings and I've lived in it all my life and ever since I can remember, I always felt like I was being watched. When I was younger I always slept in my mums bedroom because that was the only room I felt safe, When she would ask me to go wake up my sisters on the third floor, I would always feel like something was watching me. When I entered secondary school and three of my sisters and brothers moved out, I was put in my sisters old room, On the third floor. Whenever I go up to the room to sleep, I run up the stairs, Skipping steps to go quicker and in the room it feels like something is in the corner by the door. Recently when I walk past the bedroom next to mine the door handle is always pressed down, I lift it up again then the next morning it is pressed down again and nobody goes into the room since my brother moved out. At night when I'm in my room I hear footsteps in the attic then they stop and the feeling of being watched returns along with coldness. My drawing book was next to my bed once and that night when I went to get it, It wasn't there. It appeared the next day on the table next to my bed where I would have seen it the day before and there were tears in some of the pages. Whenever I go into the kitchen, The light starts to flicker but then my mum comes in and it stops. When I was 3, I woke up from my sleep and looked out into the dark hallway from my mums room and then something shadowy moved by the door, towards my bed, I screamed and my mum woke up and the shadow disappeared. Also when I try to go to sleep in my room, If I turn towards the walls, I get images in my head of Old women killing little children and Shadows with demonic faces. None of these things happen when I go to my Dads on weekends and I only feel like I'm being watched sometimes there. Also whenever I leave my school blazer on the kitchen table over the weekend, My things always appear sprawled out on the table on monday morning, My mum and other brother always say they never touched it, every time I ask if they did.

How common is it for waiters/waitresses to spit in peoples food?

i have this friend who whenever we go to some restaurant he like to argue the staff about anything. he'll call them back over and over again aggrevating them about anything. one time me him took our girlfriends to this really fancy restaurant and he called the waiter like 6 times to recook his steak and i knew for sure they spit on it or did something to it by then. i asked him why he did that and he said because hes paying good money and deserves to get the best for what he pays for. i asked hasn't ever seen those things on tv when people spit in your food and he just laughed. but i don't think its funny. i don't want to be caught in the crossfire of somebody trying to poison him but i just want to know and especially for people who've been waiters or waitresses if someone like that comes in on a scale from 1-10 1 being not likely 10 being very likely how common is it for them to spit in peoples food?

I didn't fancy anyone at my school for about 6 months, and suddenly, the weirdest feeling came over as if I liked someone which wasn't to 'pretty' to others. A bug under my skin?I finally popped it out and now there's puss what's going on?

For a month now I noticed a black mole like thing on my shoulder blade. it protrudes. What's the title of this book?

It has a sixteen year old girl and she has to go to a fancy ball where they get to eat proper food for the first time in forever and then at the ball they get matched with the person they will marry and fall in love with and she gets her best friend (Which never really happens) and then she gets send a chip about the person who she is matched with and another persons face pops up and she knows that person too. Then over the summer she does a hiking course and she becomes friends with the person that wasn't meant to pop up on the screen and she starts to fall in love. Her dad works at a recycle plant or something like that and her grandfather dies during the story and a lot of books are banned in their area but she has this poem that her grandfather gave her that she loves. i completely agree with you and am wondering on all the smae questions. there are so many holes in this book, and so many questions to ask like the ones you did. it actually frustrated me so much that after i read the first chapter i was mad that no one else saw all these holes, and they were praising the book. even though it is good. also, why doent anyone try to run away from the districts. i know they are scared of the animals and the law but i feel like starving ppl would try anythign to get food or live a better life. and why would the capitol go through all that trouble to make the games in the fisrt palce. everyone knows they are bad if they're letting ppl live like they do in the seam. why spend unneccessary cash and time to film the hunger games when ppl already find you at threat. ppl say its so they scare them so bad that they dont protest. but i feel like in reality they would protest anyway. who wouldnt protest children being taken away to fight eachother. so many questions

How well does animal repellents work?

Which ones work best? I want to repellent animals (roof rats or etc.) from getting into my attic, before I close the entry. I have had several pest control companies come in, but all tell me the same thing. I have a roof rat problem, but this thing make sounds with his mouth and he's loud. He doesn't move around a lot and when he does he's loud. Since, I don't have flooring in my attic only one company actually went up there and they did not see any signs of raccoon or possum could be getting up there. If I spray a repellent first and then wait until I don't hear any noises and then close the entry will this be best?

We just placed a box fan against our side vent in our attic. It is pointing outwards pulling air from the attic and blowing out. We have the rest of the vent blocked off with cardboard so it has to go through the fan. The box fan says it has a plug that has a fuse in it for shut off ... will this help coolour house... we are renting the house so not wanting to spend lots of money on a house we are just renting.
